Challenge
Capsim Management Simulations Inc. is the largest provider of business simulations utilized
by teachers and professors for university, college and high school courses, and by corporate
educators for executive education and management training. The company was seeking to build
its brand through public relations.
The Capsim team recently discovered that, in addition to educating business school students,
it could help universities meet and exceed changing standards for accreditation by enabling
them to prove that their students are learning. This breakthrough created a new market for
Capsim and led to the development of the company's latest innovation, Comp-XM®, the Capstone
Competency Exam.
Our Solution
KemperLesnik developed and implemented a plan to elevate awareness of Capsim among professors
and the general business community by officially launching Comp-XM through a targeted media
relations initiative. The campaign focused on select media and centered on delivering Capsim
messages through targeted media pitching and story development.
After learning about Capsim, the field of higher education, business simulations and
assessment in general, and the media environment, the team brainstormed potential news
angles and began the media pitch process by devising the story to announce Comp-XM® and
launch it into the news spotlight.
KemperLesnik worked with several of Capsim's premier clients to create testimonial material
to provide the media. The team then released the Comp-XM product information and testimonials
and undertook a media effort to secure news coverage among business, technology and educational
media nationwide.
Results
The results have been fantastic thus far. Capsim and Comp-XM® have received substantial
prominent news coverage in publications and online, with more news coverage expected in
the coming months. The campaign has generated valuable awareness of the company and its
patent-pending approach to testing business acumen, and it helped to stimulate growth
for the company.
